The Actives

Episode Summary

The first and most fundamental habit of an effective person is to be proactive. More than just taking the initiative, being proactive means taking responsibility for your life. To be reactive means to give circumstances and conditions power by reacting to problems as they arise.

Episode Notes

Proactive people are value driven. They are still influenced by external stimuli (physical, social, or psychological) but their response is a value-based choice or response. They believe they are responsible for their own lives and our behavior is a function of our decisions, not our conditions.  "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People" by Stephen R. Covey
